Name dropping
This weekend I was in a friend’s wedding in Wyoming. The governor of WY was also there, at the table next to mine. The day after we had steaks with the governor’s uncle at his ranch.
Tonight I watched Steve Wozniak speak at the civic center.
I have previously met the governor of South Dakota.

The saying “Never meet your heroes” stems from the disappointment people have felt when they have indeed met their heroes.
Which is hogwash.
Any “disappointment” is because of putting said hero on a pedestal, rather than thinking of them as regular humans.
Which in turn makes you prone to thinking you can’t be like them.
But heroes are normal people, as are...
We got two feet of snow in the last 36 hrs
School got canceled two days in a row. I *could* have spent that time grading. Instead I shoveled snow, organized my rather messy apartment, and played Battlefield 3.
